One of the largest high schools in the Cardiff catchment area, Llanishen High School is dedicated to fostering an inclusive educational environment where every student can achieve their full potential. The school is committed to meeting the diverse needs of its community and ensuring a supportive and enriching experience for all students.

To retain Sixth Form students and effectively communicate new equity-focused initiatives, Llanishen High School needed to enhance its outreach. The challenge was to engage relevant communities, improve the website’s effectiveness in delivering key messages, and support the school’s ongoing commitment to educational excellence.

Auditing existing communications showed how the school was talking to prospective students and their parents/guardians. But ultimately we needed to understand what was informing Sixth Form enrolment decision-making. Communication workshops, student/parent feedback and senior leadership sessions helped clarify a need for focused content across the right channels and an accessible website.

From these insights we were able to develop an overarching communications strategy with refreshed positioning, messaging and refined audience personas.

With school reputation management and Sixth Form recruitment as our core objectives, we focused on a fit-for-purpose website, strategic PR opportunities, advice-led blog content, and monthly social media activity profiling student stories and school initiatives.
